The general manager of the Grand Bohemian Hotel said the roar of “souped-up” cars created not only a noise problem but also the perception of an unsafe environment.
The sound became so much that the upscale hotel invested to add a third layer of glass to reduce the noise in front facing rooms. Karsey Glass was selected to provide the glazing services.
In today’s fast-paced commercial environments, controlling unwanted noise has become more important than ever. Acoustic glass, also known as soundproof glass, is an effective solution for reducing noise pollution both from outside sources and within a building itself.
For commercial buildings located near busy roads, airports, railways, or urban centers, acoustic glass helps block exterior noise before it enters the workspace. This creates a quieter and more comfortable environment for employees, customers, tenants, and visitors. Reduced noise distractions can improve focus, productivity, communication, and overall customer experience.
Inside the building, acoustic glass systems can also minimize sound transfer between offices, conference rooms, lobbies, and shared workspaces. This is especially valuable in modern open-office layouts, medical facilities, hotels, schools, and multi-tenant commercial properties where privacy and concentration are essential.
Acoustic glass is engineered using specialized laminated layers that absorb and dampen sound vibrations while still allowing natural light to flow throughout the building. In addition to improving sound control, many acoustic glass systems also contribute to modern aesthetics, energy efficiency, and enhanced property value.
As commercial building design continues to prioritize comfort and performance, acoustic glass has become a smart investment for creating quieter, more functional interior spaces.
